• Asparagus, a perennial plant, usually takes three growing seasons for a full harvest. Occassionally you may be able to lightly harvest during the second year.
  • In the first year all the plant to go vegetative.  This will allow the crown to get well established.
  • The following spring, remove last years fern growth and watch for new spear emergence.
  • With proper maintenance, Asparagus can be harvested for decades.
